My love is a forest fire

by Natusha   Mar 14, 2012

And it has
never changed.
My love for you
was eternal and
ethereal that way.

Not only it fled
from my arms
with enormous
delicacy
it took
the familiarity,
the little associations
I had with human beings
in general.

It took
the simplicity of
sleep and patience.
It took
the years
I had left
to be potent enough
for a brilliant career.

And I write
this now.
In a simple matter.
With clear
dictated sentences.

I'm not hoping
it reaches you,
but if it does.

My love
was a
forest fire
and the ashes
are right
beneath your
windowpane
teaching the fog,
that not even
on winter days
your room will
be warm enough
without the presence
of my "love".
