Fighting for Love

by Marquesas   Jun 13, 2012

I have always been a fighter
Fighting to become stronger
Fighting to defend what I hold dear
Fighting to prove myself
Most of all, fighting for love
Love, it alludes me at every turn
It seems that every time I think I have it
It seeps through my hand
Not unlike the fine sand found on a beach
It's hard to think that every time fail
I need to go back to square one
But like I said, I am a fighter
Doing what I do best
Fighting on...

I like the use of "time" and "sand" because the first thing I think about is an hour glass. Until the sand seeps out, then you believe you have love but then it lies empty.
This is an easy poem to relate to for most.

I like the way you call yourself a fighter but also show a more gentle side to you.

    Enjoyed this.
