Turn This Ship Around

"Turn This Ship Around"

Captain you're wanted on the Observation Deck,
What is it you summon me for this Time?
Sir this is no Joke please come Quick,
So Buckling my Vital Vest I Began to Climb.

Alright I'm Here turn on the Parascreen,
The Screen Is on Your Majesty my King.
Dismayed Are Things Not What They Seem?
Sickening Butterflies as Alarms Ring.

Eyes Squinting their Spirits Overwhelm,
Total Black Void Nothingness Abound.
Instantly Tiberius Grips the Helm,
"Turn This Ship Around!"

Suddenly they Realize,
This Trek Across the Universe.
Crew sees it all through real eyes,
Has been nothing but a Curse.

Experts Assured IT would be There,
Said it would bring to life Purpose.
Our Search Found Nothing but Despair,
Said, "The Truth Is Out There" BOGUS!

Salvation Science Conforming Sin,
Point This Ship The Other Way.
Wind the Clock All Over Again,
Spark The Dawning of a New Day.

Thoughts the Vessel that Still Roam,
Take Us Back It's Not Too Late.
Pierce Our Hearts That Place Called Home,
Familiar Landscapes Still Await.

Return to Rhythm Ritual and Habit,
Turn it Around for All It's Worth.
Zeal That's Real Success Must Have It,
Set The Sites Back On Planet Earth!

You have a very unique style, telling all but still remaining cryptic. I still can't believe you just started writing. Keep writing!

You're so kind. This is my favorite poem I wrote. I was listening to the best of Kiss and working out on my tred-bike when I just had to run upstairs and write this poem.

I got to read it at Poetpalooza in Madison, Indiana and I'm going to read it again this Wednesday in Cincinnati.
