I Will Be

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Feb 17, 2013

Piece after piece
You've watched me, silently
Handed my bleeding heart back
And restored my, sanity
After wiping away the tears
You told me to get back, on my feet
I'm not fully over you
But eventually, I will be

Trying to put my life in order,
I'm flipping my lucky quarter,
I slowly breathe out the pain
As the air starts getting warmer
My heart beat is slow,
My attention is towards the water,
You said you still loved me
But you have feelings for her

I don't need your sweet sympathy,
You can take it and shove it
Where the sun don't shine
I can't allow you to come near,
Cause if I can't have all of you
Then you can never be mine
Either love me or leave me
But you can't just retrieve me,
You're not what my mended heart needs,
No, I'm not completely over you
But eventually, I will be

Aww, this poem was heartbreaking. I could feel the emotions you were trying to convey so well... you expressed them simply, but you emphasized how you may not be over this person yet, but you are heading that direction.

    Well done!
