Not Too Far

by Jaymi Lynn   Jan 4, 2015

Daily voyages seldom carry us for too long alone.
Lifetimes may lead a bit further out to sea
But never too far for the heart not to sail its way home.

Yet they say, "home is where the heart rests."
I know this not to be false nor true
just that now that I've loved and put life to the test
I call you my home and lay my heart down with you.

The tides may disagree while winds howl in mockery
but it is life, nothing more, voyages all the same,
and if troublesome, merely beasts for our fierce love to tame.
