Tears Not Wasted

by Jaymi Lynn   Jan 4, 2015

'Twas there! On the edge of the meadow when it first met my eyes.
On this day, I thought, no beast nor blossom could be sadder than I.
Though the stem seemed strong, the petals were a-wilt;
'Twas a drooping beauty, as distraught as I, that caused me to still.
I journeyed to the blossom and knelt at its base,
And alas! Lent it strength with the sorrow that poured down my face.
