Starry Haze

by Watercolourz   Apr 15, 2015

I see you still pray,
Stop talking to god,
Whatever you say,
All He'll do is nod,
It tears you apart,
But won't leave a mark,
Stop teasing your heart,
Before it gets dark,
As lifelines grow thin,
My lights go dim,
I now see my sin,
When thoughts turn grim,
Time feels like a tool,
When I'm off my meds,
Begging like a fool,
Pulling at the loose threads.

Caught in a maze,
Nothing left to try,
Deep in a haze,
As life passes by,
I swear sometimes I see you,
Glaring back at me,
Passing judgment through,
To all that we could be,
Have you said enough?
Shattering the dream,
It all feels so rough,
Like a whisper on a scream,
I'll still see you at midnight,
As the vagabond,
The time might just be right,
To leave my lonely pond.

Nothing seems to fall straight,
With pieces out of place,
Leaning on a rusty gate,
As if fallen from grace,
All of it feels pointless,
With her so far away,
So I'll keep staring senseless,
Until she comes my way.
