The Creepy Roach

by Shelley Williams   May 11, 2015

Roaches run all over the street
and I see them coming towards my feet.
A sensation goes up my back
and it turns into an itch attack.

I jump around ready to leap
from the bugs that seem to creep.
I worry that they are on me
in places that my eyes don't see.

When I go inside to get away
from the little bugs in their play.
The walls have roaches everywhere
with eyes that have a nasty glare.

I quiver, tense up and I scream
as these creatures crawl into my dream.
In the night they are there
watching me with hopes to scare.

The ugly roaches run the show
and they lay eggs that all may know.
I fight the feelings that I fear
and I pray the bugs will disappear.

The creepy crawlers run around
and at times they make a sound.
When it is time to go to bed
thoughts of them will fill my head.

In my house and on the street
I am often moving my two feet.
May these roaches let me be
and from their curse may I be free.
