A town apart. (sestina) prompt challenge.

You found me hiding beneath the shadows
enticing me to join your game with dancing
the promise of a lifetime of fantastic images
turning the darkness into a waterfall of claret
although your confidence had me running scared
I could sense the aura that existed in freedom.

my burden was too heavy an exchange for freedom
doubts crept from behind leaping from shadows
in a pit of despair I sunk tongue tied and scared
my lone candle flickering as I watched your dancing
eyes mystified by a heavy mist thick with claret
flames licked the walls burning all thoughtful images.

Shaking my head with my hands I longed for those images
to unbind the umbilical cord that prevented my freedom
then open old wounds and find more than clotted claret
light a fire in my own heart that dispersed the shadows
desiring to take your hand and lead all hopeful dancing
yet truth finds my every turn leading to feeling scared.

There must be more to my life than being scared
is there a colour of love producing heartfelt images
between love and hate I will always find you dancing
those nights I look at the stars dreaming of freedom
tired excuses and heavy heartbeats nest in shadows
all the things I deserve lead me back to claret.

I escape to a town apart finding only more claret
blood filled shoes where the young scattered scared
bigger evils lurking amongst bigger shadows
angel dust swept away in the wind creating deathly images
another hole, another life void of any freedom
never will I chance my arm again at dancing.

People fall around my feet dying no longer dancing
the smell of fresh wounds in seeping rivers of claret
those that dare do not always discover freedom
mostly fall or hide behind walls shaking and scared
I hoped for better but stumbled upon war like images
this light was brighter but cast bigger shadows.

You hoped to kill the shadows with erotic dancing
yet only images of claret poured down my many walls
now you know I will always be scared of freedom.
