Music box reverie

by Daisy if you do   Mar 8, 2016

Ballerinas no longer pirouette
from the tiny pink music box
where a princesses important
treasures are kept.

precious gemstone rings
bought one dime at a time
tumbled through machines
like gum balls
in wait of a child's hand

stickers too pretty
to place on just anything
but were meant for safekeeping
now tucked away beneath
the melody of Swan Lake

awaiting the wakening
of a sleeping beauty

***

Written in memory of Aleaha (Queen Lee Lee) Hodges (Feb. 15, 1999 - March 4, 2016), she was a beautiful 17 year old cheerleader and very smart young lady who is now in the arms of the angels.

This is absolutely beautiful and a lovely dedication to your friend.

How it's been missed I'll never know, it gave me goose bumps.
