The Signs of a What!

by Shelley Williams   Jun 27, 2016

The wheels on a skateboard may roll with ease,
Uphill and downhill, alongside the breeze
The signs up ahead, the warnings of what!
could be a marble, or even a nut.

If you must travel, on the pavement you fly,
be aware of the gravel, the dust in your eye.
For if you can't see whither you go,
Don't pick up speed when you should go slow.

Gone in a flash, in the blink of an eye,
Down the hill unaware of those walking by.
If this should happen, you cannot see what!
You just might stumble and fall on your butt.

Wheels that tip sideways, discover a rock
Your tongue might be tied, not able to talk
In a stupor of silence, a scrape with a cut
eyes do not see clearly the signs of a what.
