Sleeping Angle

A year has passed since we had our news, in 24 hours I'd be preparing for an emergency c section to welcome our boys into the world ????????

I'll never forget the day we lost you, or had to say goodbye,
The moment our hearts broke, all we could do was cry,
A day that started so normal, turned quickly upside down,
When I had my appointment and their smiles turned to frowns,
My whole world crashed around me when they said there's now only 1,
It didn't seem real, it couldn't, I'd just got videos of your tummy fun,
I kept on rubbing my belly, where your bottom would be,
Wondering what I'd done? You should've been safe in me.
A night of overthinking and wondering what went wrong,
I lay there in the hospital bed singing our special song.
The morning came, the special day in which you'd both arrive,
but a day of heartbreak because you'd lost your life,
The moment had arrived, our yellow bump turned blue,
A moment of euphoria as we met both of you,
The midwife brought you over, and your daddy smiled and knew,
He'd call you Theo Avery, the name that I loved too!
Your brother is a fighter, he gets stronger by the day,
"Its because of his guardian Angel, his brother!" We'd say
A year has passed since we found out, not a day goes by,
Where I wish things were different and have a little cry,
I'd move the earth,do anything, for one more moment with you,
But I know you understand I've got to be a mummy here too,
You keep painting us rainbows and sending butterflies,
And I'll dream of our cuddles when i close my eyes.
You've touched the lives of us, friends and family,
And for that we strive to be better in your memory,
Although you were born sleeping, in our hearts you'll live forever,
Do things in your name Theo, until we're back together.
