Dandelion Seedlings (Acrostic + Balassi Stanza)

by stormingdance (Lessa)   Jul 9, 2017

Draw your bow and arrow
As the way is narrow
Now I beg thee awaken
Don't leave us alone
Endless crimes to atone
Let us not be mistaken
In the new days of hope
Over slippery slope
Not to leave us forsaken

Sunrise a breath away
Enough, is it to say?
Endless nights, yet you abide
Dreary eons, you stand
Lightning at your command
Ignite the fire inside
Notch arrows in your bow
Gracing the sky, aglow
Starry home above, our guide

~
The brave and mighty Sagittarius constellation. Both dandelions and the Sagittarius sign are symbols of hope.
Balassi Stanza
Syllable: 6/6/7/6/6/7/6/6/7
Rhyme scheme: aadbbdccd
I saw Ben's poem, Dandelion Confessions. Haven't read it yet, but the title struck a chord in me and away I went to create this piece.

I have never seen this rhyme scheme, Jessica or heard of a 'Balassi Stanza'. But I can tell that you have executed it very well without sacrificing the content and imagery. Excellent work,
