Don't give up

by Professor Leskinen   Apr 10, 2018

Someday you may find yourself wandering, lost
Like an unresting ghost with pain in its heart
That has now turned black in regret of a past choice,
Rejoice - for you'll be surely set free

When the time has come and you're afraid of tomorrow
For it looks grim and hollow, don't lose your hope.
Instead untie the rope and graciously accept the new dawn.
And it's gone, suddenly, and your fears did not come true

When a person you held dear one day betrays you
And acts as if he hates you, and causes you pain
As if all you have gained together was nothing at all
Do not fall - for the gap was meant to be filled by someone else

When one day you wake up and feel at last satisfied
And your sadness has died, and you're happier than ever
And you know you'll feel better once you start off your day
Then you'll say to yourself that the pain was well worth it

And when finally you end up in a hospital bed
And you're close to your end, and your loved ones are close,
When your last breath blows and you see all you've achieved
Think - would they be here, if you had given up that day?
