The lone knight

by Professor Leskinen   Jan 15, 2018

A knight with darkness in his heart
Tearing his inside world apart.
Carrying the burden all alone
Like it's a sin he has to atone.

Because his fight remains untold
Versus the darkness of his soul.
His thoughts of sorrow pull him back,
Force him to keep wearing the mask.

He won't reach out for help - he's scared
Because they'll scar him with despair.
They'll judge his pain, laugh at his cause,
Convincing him that he has lost.

Seeker of love until the end
For she'll hear out and understand.
An ally to this fight of will,
That light has yet to be revealed.

He aids all those in need of help,
Never asks something in return.
He won't yet show, for he's not brave
But he's familiar with the pain.

Will he one day beat his despair?
Or will he meet a bitter end?
It's up to him to choose his fate.
The story's epigraph to unveil.

Not gonna write much as sleep is calling.

However I really loved this piece and rings to me of the lost, lonely and yet still stubborn and head strong.
