Addiction

by Some Random Human   May 30, 2018

There's a smile,
that I don't have to fake,
for a while,
until you walk away,
then I'm dying,
as my heart starts to break,
and I'm crying,
I can't go on this way,

It seems like,
you're a strong dose,
I get high,
whenever we're close,
your eyes light,
up my affliction,
and it seems I,
can't escape this addiction,

I feel the itch,
underneath my skin,
I start to twitch,
withdrawal begins,
I can't stand this,
oh, why won't it end,
it's you I miss,
can we make amends,

It seems like,
you're a strong dose,
I get high,
whenever we're close,
your eyes light,
up my affliction,
and it seems I,
can't escape this addiction,

When I see you,
my pain goes away,
what can I do,
when you just won't stay,
and this is true,
there's no way that it's fake,
'cause when we're through,
well, I start to shake,

It seems like,
you're a strong dose,
I get high,
whenever we're close,
your eyes light,
up my affliction,
and it seems I,
can't escape this addiction,

And it seems like,
you're a strong dose,
and I get high,
whenever we're close...

Hi. Using whole verses should be off-putting, but like a refrain, they bond the piece, intensifying the 'addiction'.
