Darkness

by DestinyAwaits   Jul 12, 2004

This darkness that falls upon me,
Is something I've never felt before.
It lurks in the shadows of my mind,
Waiting to strike my hearts bitter core.

Like the leaves in autumn,
Tears fall down my face.
Yearning for your tender touch,
Someone to fill this empty space.

Through this darkness I walk blind,
Reaching out for your helping hand.
Someone there to catch me when I fall,
For the times when I feel as though I can not stand.

Losing all faith in everything I've believed in,
Not even knowing the truth anymore.
Being hurt by the ones you love,
Now I'm trying to pick the pieces up off the floor.

The darkness being the razor blade,
Cutting through my skin.
Breaking down the illusion I have created,
Showing that even pure innocence can sin.

The light shall one day shine again,
And the blood from my wrist shall wash away.
For I will realize my life I should cherish,
And I will live to see another day.

Learn and grow from life's choices,
You shall never forget but there's always forgiveness.
So reach out for those who love you,
And they'll lead you out from the Darkness.
