The Cure (* This is a song not a poem)

by Leah20   Jan 6, 2005

I know the pain you are feeling
And I know what is the cause
I know your insecurities
The way you hide your flaws
You were born in the land of the free
Please contain your misery
It is not needed or wanted here
In the land of make-believe

Would you like a band-aid?
Won’t heal that scar
Would you like some medicine?
Won't go very far
Would you like a new life?
Won't last very long
Would you like a funeral?
They're not going to remember you when you're gone

I'll pour you out some misery
I’ll whip you up some pain
I'll bake you some sprinkle tears
I'll stir you up some rain
I'll put your heart in a blender
And on it we can dine
I’ll tear your soul to pieces
And act like things are fine
I'll pour you out some misery
I'll whip you up some pain
I’ll bake you some sprinkle tears
We'll eat them in the rain

Would you like a band-aid?
Won't heal that scar
Would you like some medicine?
Won't go very far
Would you like a new life?
Won't last very long
Would you like a funeral?
They're not going to remember you when you are gone

I have the ingredients
I can make you disappear
Will you come partake of it
Or be dispelled by your fears
Would you like to lose yourself
Conform to our menacing society
I can bring you the medicine
But you'll have to pay the fee

Would you like a band-aid?
Won’t heal that scar
Would you like some medicine?
Won't go very far
Would you like a new life?
Won't last very long
Would you like a funeral?
They're not going to remember you when you are gone

I can be your miracle
I can be your cure
I can make you innocent
Or make your pain long endure
I can be your miracle
I can save your soul tonight
Or I can cause you pain
Make you give up the fight

I’ll pour you out some misery
I'll whip you up some pain
I'll bake you some sprinkle tears
I'll stir you up some rain
I'll put your heart in a blender
And on it we can dine
I'll tear your soul to pieces
And act like things are fine
I'll pour you out some misery
I'll whip you up some pain
I'll bake you some sprinkle tears
We'll eat them in the rain

I hold the power
You hold the choice
It is yours alone to make
Take to heart; take voice

I can be you band-aid-savior-medicine
I can be your pain
I can be your sorrow
Or offer you hope again

I can be your everything
I can be your life
I can be your miracle
I can take from you the strife

Would you like a band-aid?
Won't heal that scar
Would you like some medicine?
Won't go very far
Would you like a new life?
Won't last very long
Would you like a funeral?
They're not going to remember you when you are gone

They won't remember you
They don't care for you
They don't want you here
Disappear

I'll pour you out some misery
I'll whip you up some pain
I'll bake you some sprinkle tears
I'll stir you up some rain
I'll put your heart in a blender
And on it we can dine
I'll tear your soul to pieces
And act like things are fine
I'll pour you out some misery
I'll whip you up some pain
I'll bake you some sprinkle tears
We'll eat them in the rain

They won't remember you
They don't care for you
They don't want you here
Disappear

Oh My God... This poem, or song, is the best I think I have ever read. Wow, it's fantastic!! These are my fav lines:

I’ll tear your soul to pieces
And act like things are fine

So powerful. Definitely keep this up.
