Simple Pleasures

by Lauren   Jan 8, 2005

Lost in my thoughts,
Buried inside my skin,
Unlocking secret temples,
Holding darkness deep within.

Forgetting my empty past,
Lining my vision with crimson lace,
Running from lonely memories,
As tears stream down my face.

Drifted thoughts as I sleep awake,
Leaving behind my sense of time,
Battered cries and angry screams,
Flood my indifferent mind.

My sense of control is lost,
As a smile forms on my face,
I whisper something hysterical,
When ecstasy swallows my pace.

Intensity clouds my train of thought,
As it causes a ripple effect,
Any thoughts I may have had,
Have been completely wrecked.

Enveloped in darkened fear,
But panic will not break,
I quickly destroy whatevers left,
As guilty thoughts overtake.

I slip into my silent death,
As if for good measure,
I realized this long ago,
I do this for simple pleasure.
