A Second Chance?

by Ashleigh Skye   Feb 24, 2005

This fits under both sadness and depression as well as friendship. I wasnt sure where to put it.

I take a deep breath,
and place the knife against my throat,
standing just a foot away,
from the letter that I wrote.

I feel a tiny tear,
trickle down my face,
as I press the knife deeper,
my death I'm about to embrace.

All of a sudden the phone rings,
it's most annoying sound,
now knowing what else to do,
I place the knife on the ground.

I then pick up the receiver,
and am amazed to hear your voice,
all of a sudden I realize,
I have another choice.

I finish talking to you,
with a smile on my face,
and then I turn towards the knife,
throwing it away in disgrace.

You gave me a second change,
and I cannot thank you enough,
for coming to my rescue,
when the world just looked to tough.

For giving me back my life,
without any questions to ask,
and for continuing to love me,
even without the mask.
