Immortality

by ~*Monkey See~*~Monkey Do*~   May 8, 2005

I'm a creature of the night,
A vampire.
When my teeth sink into flesh,
and draw the blood of another,
They become like me.
Immortal.
But what an immortal wants most,
Is to be mortal again.
To die.
To leave this earth,
And go where we belong.
To Heaven,
not a living Hell.

I go where I want,
In the safety of the night.
But when the sun rises once again,
I cannot stay.
For if I do,
The sun would burn me.
That is the price of my immortality.
I live without light,
The symbol of Heaven.
Instead,
I live in darkness,
The nest of Hell.
