Skin Deep

In the depths of beauty,
All we see is skin deep.

Though the sun shines,
Darkness devours all.

And All through life we live
Only to end up dying.

The vivid language,
Dull in our writings.

The precise meanings,
Somehow have multiple thoughts.

The blank page has
More words than a novel.

The bare walls sharing with us
A life worth knowing.

The government working
To destroy us.

In the depths of life,
All we see is skin deep.

The bacchanalian guests
Completely and undoubtedly sober.

The chimerical truths,
Hector our lives.

Seeing iridescent colors streaming,
Ever so dully on a still night.

Our once faithful minions,
Have become our unruly leaders.

The auroral moonlight,
Challenges the dusk at its best.

Watching as Elysium
Burns in the fires of Hell.

Our world has become peacefully eristic.
Agreeing on wonders and thoughts alike.

Falling into the depths of life,
And yet all we see is skin deep.
