Eyes wide open

by ..eliSa*   Oct 17, 2005

I live life,
For what I see
I take it day by day.
For I think of constant threat
No safe haven
Not even in my solemn dreams
I turn, I love
But what is returned?
I plea for it to stop.
A brief relief
Revives my soul
The camouflage angels have arrived.
As quick as prayers answer
Hope is stripped and spit upon
For only our anthem can revive.
Tis our anthem:
Bullet shells clink
Dying cries
Our artists paint,
The littering blood.
The smell of raw flesh
A deep breath of death.
Cry.
Why cry?
It's a waste of running energy.
I feel it in my stomach,
Utter repulsiveness.
But I mustn't give up.
For my message is heard,
Louder than any scream.
