Christmas Reminiscing

by Larry   Oct 21, 2005

I was counting my numerous blessings,
While gazing out my window mesmerized by snow;
When I suddenly recalled a moment from my youth,
A time when Rudolph's nose actually glowed!

It was a time when my parents were everything,
My mother and father were indeed my entire world;
When I was enchanted by the power of the mighty mistletoe,
And candy cane ornaments caused my tastebuds to twirl!

The gigantic world around me was covered with tensile,
I routinely envisioned myself opening my holiday treats;
However, that time is far past gone,
I now find a world of adulthood resting beneath my feet!

I now see my own family perched by the fire,
What was once my entire world has blossomed into my life;
And although I have my moments of frustration,
The presence of my family eases my anxiety and strife!
