Words of the Dying

by Fallengod667   Nov 11, 2005

To my mother,
to my father,
i can not do this,
any longer.

I weighed me down,
it made me break,
so now I'm off,
to heaven's gate.

To my mother,
please don't cry,
If I told you,
you'd know why.

The pain it held me,
to the end,
sometimes it was,
my only friend.

To my father,
please be strong,
you helped me make it,
to live this long.

I realize now,
I have atoned,
for all the things,
inside my soul.

But it still has me,
in its grasp,
You should have known,
i could not last.

I know i haven't,
said this alot,
but i love you both,
with all my heart.

Now i see,
this is my time,
so this is where,
I say goodbye,

Remember mother,
never cry,
and father please,
hold your head high.

This is not,
the last we'll see,
next time we meet,
I will be free.

This is such a great poem. It reminds me a lot of some of the things I have written, and how I have felt. Hope you don't have to say goodbye like this, someone with your talent doesn't deserve an end like that.
    Great Write, keep it up.
