Cause And Effect

by Ironic Allure   Dec 10, 2005

Physicality Vs. Mentality,
The ball's there in your court,
May I ask you this time,
Don't toss it to the sideline,
And keep shouting out for more.
Those dreams are insecurities,
And you've gained an instability.
So is this how it's got to be?
The predator to the fool in me?
I don't need your procrastinations,
I've got my own destinations.
Maybe someday you'll see.
I'm just a breath away,
But you're only almost here,
My heart has found shelter in
The bottom of the bottle.
I don't think with my mind dear,
It's only Eleven Thirty,
There's time for 'I love you' still,
'Cause it's only Eleven thirty,
And there's so much time to kill.
I never wanted it to end this way,
But patience has it's limits too,
Maybe you're just ignorant today,
Either choice, I've heard the truth.
Don't apologize either in a day or two,
When you've looked things over,
And you've thought things through.
I had this doubt we wouldn't work,
Just didn't realize it would hurt,
This is the proof I can be wrong.
I was vulnerable, I was willing,
And you took advantage of that,
The time you borrowed needlessly,
Now a wasted selfless act.
What I believed was opinion,
Stands corrected as a fact.
So for purpose and for reason,
For the questioned cause and effect,
This one's for the promise,
The one nobody kept.
