Antidote for a Poisonous Son

by Jeffrey   Dec 22, 2005

Her room is filling with water
and she never learned to swim
tried everything they taught her
but her chances were just too slim

the cowardly halt the pain
the wise let it reach the brain
its learning that keeps you sane
but if you never try, you can't complain

repulsed by the path she found
a dark corridor filled with shame
humiliated, but safe and sound
she lived, but no one knew she came

all these people want her free
she just wants to stop the clock
no one knew she had the key
to her very own personal lock

her room is running out of air
and her lungs are soon to give
sick of hearing life isn't fair
but i know she wants to live
