Not Everyone has a Valentine

The day of love draws near
Time for love and flowers
Fancy candlelit dinners
Staring at each other for hours

The day of the lovers
On a Tuesday this year
More suicides occur
As this dreadful day draws near

Some miss their ex
Some have lost all hope
"I'm not beautiful"
Then they overdose on dope

Watching lovers cuddles
Just deepens the pain
"I'm a nobody,
I have nothing to gain"

Not everyone has a valentine
For one reason or another
So be considerate of them
Whilst making out with your lover

Single girls claim not to care
They don't want one anyway
Inside its killing them
To have no one on this day

So when with your other tomorrow
Forgive those who whine
Remember not everyone
Has their own valentine

    I love this poem you show ain't lien either. I be looking around and everybody be together it's sad ecspecially around Valentines Day. But you outdone yourself with this one.

    Loved the poem, and it's true..not everyone has a valentine..i had no valentine and have never had one...lol shit happens, but i haven't lost hope :) ..afterall...it's just a comercial day

    i specially liked this part:

    So true..... not everyone has a valentine and that's a shame, but a valentine doesn't always have to be a significant other, it could be your mom or dad or even your best friend. Another heartfelt write, wonderful job.

    Awe I loved this poem! I can relate so much to it! lol I should make a bunch of print outs and hand them around to the sappy lovers in my school for v-day ;P lol great job!
