The Show

by Jackie Bilson   Feb 16, 2006

The heavy curtains open to reveal,
The passion I wish wasn't real.
I close my eyes and approach my mark,
If only my words could stay hidden in the dark.

My mouth opens and the words they dance,
convinving and pulling you into a trance.
You take me in your arms and and I feel,
That maybe, our love time did not steal.

Your eyes shine with such emotion,
You utter your undying devotion.
For the first time in years, I feel complete.
You've once again, swept me off my feet.

We reach the climax to our new found bliss,
As your lips find mine in a heated kiss.
But when the curtains close, you pull away,
My heart shatters as I remember,
It's only a play.
