They Keep Calling Me

by Daenerys Stormborn   Jun 9, 2006

Crawling across the floor
Your whip coiled around my neck
Not sure what is next
But these dreams make me a wreck

I am a stranger to reality
Angry voices calling my name
Burn my bleeding ears
Disfigured faces playing their game

They keep calling me
Drawing me in to their mischief
I am a fool to myself
Cannot tell the truth from myth

My palms are dripping thick blood
Runs down my wrists
Shoves my broken face in the mud
Begging me to stop

Mutilated hearts turned backwards
Bend my twisted back
Actions made reality through words
Tell me this is not real

Beads of sweat spill off my forehead
Emaciated and abused
The scalping makes my sweat look red
Oh God, this may be real

This was a very interesting line. I liked it for the originality of that expression.
    The poem overall was great!
