Blushing

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Jun 26, 2006

As pink
as wild roses get
As pure
as the sun setting
over the horizon
As harsh as
loud words
As obvious
as black and white
I am blushing,
all because of thee
And the words you say
that warm my soul
and wipe away my tears
I cannot help
but blush
and I like it
for I am blooming
and it is not my season
I am ripe
when I should be dying off
I feel like a rose
when, really, I am a weed
All because of thee
and the way you look
at me and smile
And make me feel
Distinguished
I smell sweet
When I should
Smell sour
But I like it
Even though
I am not used to it
I can be
If I let myself
and my petals fall
And pray they land
in a straight path
to you
For I am blushing
All because
of thee

This is beautiful! I love the way you used the rose to describe yourself. It captures the essence of love and all the feelings it invokes. 5/5
