A Girl Cries As She Stands In The Rain

by MeganLeigh   Jul 17, 2006

A girl cries as she stands in the rain
It's a constant reminder of her pain
For when she was only 5 years old
This is the news the girl was told.

It was raining so hard he could not see
He swerved off the road and hit a tree
The airbags failed and he hit his head
I'm sorry child, you're father's dead.

Ever since that day she's tried to comprehend
Why God had made her lose her only friend
But she never figured it out before that night
When hell struck upon her and she saw the light.

She was 16 now and on her way to a friend's
When she took a wrong turn and hit a dead end
It was raining so hard she could not see
She swerved off the road and hit a tree.

Her airbags failed and she hit her head
And when they found her, the girl was dead
She died the same way as her father's death
But was it God who stole their breath?

Great! I love how you question the possibility of who actually caused both to die. Nicely written and the rhyme was perfect, it wasn't forced and it worked well. I loved the poem!
