Comprises of 5 syllable couplets separated by a 2 syllable line. The number of lines in a stanza is 9. Each group of couplets and 2 syllable lines follow the rhyme scheme "aab"; this is derived from an old French form.
I'm not too familiar with this format, but it was a joy to read. I know I read a lot of different style poems, but I have yet to try any of them. I guess I'm scared because it limits what I can write, but it takes someone with a lot of talent to write something like this. Well done Kaylee, this was a very sad poem. You used the right words to describe things.
Amazing job... I Love how you can switch styles and still do wonderfully. I may try one of these myself (though probably fail). Great job... I loved how the five syllable lines seemed to read fast... and then it slowed down at the two syllable...and then pick up again on and off.. Great.
