The highest purity

by libby   Sep 25, 2006

There is no
pure, unbroken maiden inside me.
There is no
knot of twisted something
that you can't see.
I am whole.
This is all me.

And I will not
lie down for you
and close my eyes while you
take.
I will give.
I will
flower up in your veins,
sing your eyes to sight because
you don't see
until you see me.

And I don't know
until I know you.
I know every line and contour
of your body, of your brain.
And mostly
I don't know anything more
pure
than this knowledge.
