A Hunting Dragon

by Daenerys Stormborn   Nov 17, 2006

Powerful wings beat the air
Pulsating to a rhythmic beat
Eyes gleam and nostrils flair
Zeroing in on fresh meat

Ebony forked tongue whips
Between fangs sharp as knives
An unforgivable dragon kiss
Awaits the winged beast's prize

The dragon breathes a mighty flare
With inferno in his eyes
That insists his prey be well aware
Of the certitude of his demise

Smoke clouds the sky above
And all turns to scarlet horror
For a dragon has no sense of love
He is a mercilessly cruel soarer

Haha, you are correct--soarer is not a real word, but what is poetry after all? Freedom of expression. You should read my profile, I mention the made up words.

    Soarer
((I'm pretty sure that's not a word...But, it may be.))

I really enjoyed reading this.. It's a very unquie topic and the words you tried to use seemed force, but not badly forced. I think it is well written. Again, using punctuation will help the flow, but it is only a suggestion. Take care. Great job.
