Goodbye

by Scrittore   Nov 19, 2006

With a tear
My lamentation cannot be veiled
With a smile
My delight is only a masquerade
As if I were dressed for a ball
To look and be visible under your eye
My fervor to you easily taken advantage
By your decadence of me
As I battle this turmoil inside my mind
You only work to make it more tumultuous
As such the crashing waves in open sea
Yet the birds will take wing to the blue above
And so will my sprit when you award my sovereignty
With a gesture
My valediction will be anything but sweet
Though I give my bow and take leave
As if you were merely a memory

Wow, this is genuine and emotional.

Seems you have been in turmoil some time and that can lead to bad things. We will love even of we aren't loved just so we can say we aren't alone but the strength comes when that person leaves or we find the courage to leave them. I have been there and neither is easy though the memories can sometimes be good.

    All the best, Em

Okay, I saw Mahers comment and wanted to know what has him emotional... as soon as I saw this i knew. he is right! This is very well written!!

I would also love to hear some of your songs, not as a fellow musician, but as someone who appreciates the art of music.

    well done

Beautiful and sad. It starts with a tear and ends in a memory - not sure if that was intentional, but it works like the opening and closing of a book. Very well written. I'd love to hear some of your songs :)
