La Llornoa

by Liz   Feb 22, 2007

Some say I was selfish, some say I wasn't sane,
But either way, I'm forced to linger and always stay the same,
I drowned my children in this river,
Why I did it is up to the story teller...
Some say it was a mother's love, some say it was a man,
Now I search this river for as long as I possibly can.
You might hear my cries at night,
But please do not fright,
Think if it was your children lost,
What of your life would you cost?
I drowned my children in this river and then I drowned myself...

I don't remember why I committed such a sin,
Perhaps it was for love,
Or perhaps it was for him,
Please do tell me,
Have you seen my baby?

Some say I was selfish, some say I wasn't there,
Either way I pace this place,
Crying in the night air,
Please, have you seen my babies?

Ok, this poem really sucks-- but I wrote it only because my friend had to paint a picture of La Llorona for his Spanish/Art class. So I was like "Well hey, I wanna see if I can make a poem" :D I'm gonna try and think of a better one to write-- so yeah... SORRY IT SUCKS! *hides*
