American Warrior

by Poetic Grunt   Feb 23, 2007

To all those who have fought and died for me in Iraq... I will be among the few who still believe in freedom...

A rifle, my life
A Sand dune, my Shield
A wife, to guide me
A family, my hope
We fellow soldiers, we must learn how to cope
without the love of another
without the security of love
for this war will last alot longer
but to us soldiers...
Death Before Dishonor
so you people, safe in your homes
pray for a warrior, for he needs your poems
Of prayers and thank you's matter the most
to care for a warrior, now thats something to boast.

I like this poem. It's really quite good actually. I live in Australia and I'm wanting to join to RAAF. I so want to be a pilot. But it doesn't bother me what I do as long as I get to fight. Still got a couple of more years for me though :(

Atleast there is one person who stands for the soldiers. instead of slamming the government and saying the soldiers don't want to be there, this poems says something different. something that needs to be said

    your servant:
