(This is not about me, it is about a shadow. You'll understand once you read it.)

I am here
I am alive, I breathe
I see and feel
You may never see me
Or acknowledge that I am there
but I am
I have been for a long time
I follow everyone's footsteps
I mimic their every move
In shadow I blend,
In light I am visible
I am your one real friend
Who understands all your emotions
I know what all you have been through
I know everything about you
Down to the smallest detail
I am here
When will you see me?

    This poem was really good. I felt like you should be "spittin" it live on stage at def poetry jam or something. It was powerful yet simple. My favorite part was "In shadow I blend, in light I am visible..." Those lines conjure an image that allows me to actually feel like I am seeing the blending of the shadow and the light.
