Chained Heart (Freedom)

It's strange to know,
That love is a blind eye.
Constantly changing in direction,
Yet becoming the one thing you despise.

It's strange to know,
That no matter what you do.
Love will capture and torture,
Taking the very best of you.

It's strange to know,
The one thing we all want.
Is an evil, maniacal emotion,
That tears your heart and taunts.

It's strange to know,
No matter how much you cry.
Love will slice every inch of you,
Forcing blood to drain from your eyes.

It's strange to know,
That one feeling we feel we need.
Will only leave us breathless and bound,
Begging for mercy on our knees.

It's strange to know,
That I'm a survivor from pain.
When I left my heart so long ago,
I left it with my broken chains.

Love is one hell of an emotion.

You could practically says its the anchor that ties all human emotion together, because through love, you can feel just about every other emotion on the spectrum. You can be happy and feel euphoria, or love can leave you heartbroken and full of despair. Its crazy stuff.
Its our greatest need, as well as our greatest weakness as human beings.

That said, great write. A well played example of just how ironic the idea of love can be. Its a blooming rose of a thousand deadly thorns. In the scramble to obtain the bud, you may very well get pricked a few times :D

I'm all deep and metaphorical this morning.
