Autumn in the Middle of Spring

by Stargirl   Mar 24, 2014

Oh autumn in the middle of spring
Every day I try to run but always slow down
I jolt into a halt from the pull of my demons
Without lifting a finger

I constantly wake up from stained pillows around 4 AM
As these little autumns seep through my mind
How can anyone not notice
My perpetual battle to overcome them?

I watch spring progress through the window
And through the gleaming light of my comrades' bearings
Covetous I seemed with an itch to possess it
What have I done to deserve the strikes of autumn?

As the skies progress from spring to summer
There is one thing I matter I am certain of
It's that I'm destined to possess autumns from cradle to grave
And gnaw on my remaining stimulus to exist
