Anne Sighety

From Missouri,
Was this friend
In emptiness,
She fills me in
I may have just met her
And acknowledged her presence
But I'm very certain that
The thought of her
Have always lingered in my mind
She's the essence
And number one subject in all my poems
But I can assure you
That I do not glorify her existence
And I'd much rather have other things to talk about
It just so happens
That my poems revolve around her
Because she's all that there is to write
And all there is to feel
As if I'm shackled inside my head
I crave for escape
Attached as ever
In the light of every good news
She still manages to seep in
And drowns me in her subsistence
