Nightfall

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 30, 2014

Nightfall approaches
with sparkling stars,
another night to routinely reflect
on memories gone by.

You breathed life into
this lonely heart of mine,
you filled a gap inside of me
that I never knew I had -
but I'm so glad that I did.

I close my eyes,
making wishes on the stars,
hoping nothing will
disturb this perfect moment.

Because if I pretend
that nothing went wrong,
you will not be dead by sunset
and this nightfall will not approach.

Theres always pieces that in first read, just grabbed you.. this one knocked me over!

You have the ability to hit me hard with your words and that is one of the many reasons why I adore your poetry.

to hold that moment, seize the moment of a lingered memory is priceless, even if it means waking up to reality of being alone. Losing the one you love through death, or abandonment or just life circumstances shatters the soul... this piece got me Saffie... truly got me.. damn :-(
