Sleeping Amongst Stars

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 20, 2015

If only she had
feathers of fearlessness,
this could have been a different story,
but instead, she is smiling down from heaven
on every day that passes.

She knew the jump
was such a long way down,
but feeling impatient with her life,
she had no time to decide.

And as thunder crashed,
and all the lights began to fade,
she knew that night
would be her first time
sleeping amongst the stars.

What a wonderful poem Baby Rainbow, and such a beautiful but sad ending. I really enjoyed reading this. Well done.

I agree, that line is wonderful. And this is an amazingly hearbreakingly beautiful piece. I'm not sure what else I can say because this feels far too personal for much more than that.
