Fooled By Lies

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 14, 2015

I was fooled by your lies
as you gave me permission for the tears in my eyes,
finally allowing me to grieve from my Gran,
whom I had loved with all of my heart.

I believed your words were true,
and flood gates opened as I tried to send my tears to heaven,
to the person I loved most in the world...
and you knew it!

But seeing the anger turn your face
the darkest scariest, shade of red,
I knew that I had been fooled again -
fallen for another trap.

Instantly, the air turned cold,
as shivers ran down my spine,
and you breathed words into my ears,
as you squeezed my arm with silent warnings.

"One more tear and that will be you,
lying in the coffin beside her!"

With knowledge that you keep your threats,
just like that,
my tears had vanished,
along with my chance to say goodbye to my Gran.

And out of all the hell
you have ever put me through,
that was the worst thing
that you ever stole from me!
