Shades of Black

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 7, 2016

They say if people want to walk away,
to let them go,
because perhaps they were only passing through
for a short while,
adding a little bit of colour as they go.

I must learn to adjust my expectations
of the length that they will stay.

But thank you,
yes you,
for bringing more shades of black
my way!

    Hello Saffie,

I am writing this with bright red stinging cheeks.

The title made me feel an 'Amy Winehouse' feel, a 'back to black' thing...

The introduction made me nod my head with empathy. People who you thought were friends, fade away and reveal an empty dark hole of regret and puzzlement.

The last verse though was genius, a hard slap in the face. A sarcastic 'thank you' for crapping on my lawn!

Excellent and point well laid out.

    Take care,

    Michael
