Unfurled

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 12, 2016

Like an unfurled rose silently collapsing,
surrendering to the wind,
I want to stay broken,
enfolded inside the arms of loneliness.

It feels like I've been on the run
since I left the womb,
never feeling like I belong.

The darkness of a bitter winter
sings a seductive lullaby to my soul.

I'm simply surrounding myself
with nothing but a wall
and a pierced heart
signed permanently
with failure and regret.
