Dead Star

by Baby Rainbow   Mar 2, 2016

One dead star
becomes jealous of one small tear,
as the withering fire in her heart
feels emotionless and numb.

I know my false heart,
without feeling,
doesn't truly belong.
Trying to connect to love
is like flying towards the sun
with no safety net or wings.

Imagine walking beside loneliness
within an empty heart,
gently strumming it with tears of guilt.

I know I have let all the best air
evade my lungs,
leaving me falling into a world
of broken glass.
