Nothing Sound

Gushing oil and twisted steel
Our wildlife put to test
Aftermath of an oil spill
wounding nature's breast

Drift away with oceans sand
Journey into dark abyss
Riding waves to yonder land
Upon the gills of fish

Land on crest of sandy shores
Beside the trembling ground
Habitat not as before
In Prince Williams Sound

*This was written for the anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince Williams Sound off the coast of Alaska March 24th 1989. This tragic even forever changed our wildlife and has affected it to this day. This matter is still tied up in our courts as of this day.
