You Tell Me

by Hidden1   Feb 7, 2008

You tell me not to love you.
You tell me not to go in too deep.
You tell me to keep my thoughts and feeling to myself,
But to let go is a worthless feat.

You tell me I'm special and that there are few of me.
If you know this then why can't you love me and complete me?
You tell me to guard me heart for you know what's best.
For if I gave it to you I would be lonely, hurt, alone, and depressed.

Dear it's too late, I'm in now way too deep.
I will love you forever even if you can't return the love to me.
I have fallen off the cliff, but my thoughts kept me from hitting the ground.
Maybe I'm still holding on to false hopes that maybe one day you will be mine.

Honey, you are just so sweet. For me loving you was not an option, you are all that I can ever want and need. I'll settle for being your friend because that's all that you can possibly give me.

Guess that's better than nothing.
